Our story

From one porch to the whole world

Front Porch Stitchery began with a simple belief: the most meaningful things in a home aren’t mass-produced. They’re made by hand, carry a story, and connect us to people and places we might never otherwise meet.

Founder Hector grew up surrounded by handwork — quilts folded over porch rails, dolls passed between generations, embroidery hoops left mid-stitch on the kitchen table. When he started traveling and meeting makers abroad, he saw the same devotion everywhere: a weaver in a mountain cooperative, a wood-carver shaping marionettes by lamplight, a family studio painting porcelain faces one at a time.

The problem was never a lack of beautiful work. It was connection. Extraordinary makers were invisible to the households who would treasure their craft, and buyers had no trustworthy way to find them. Front Porch Stitchery was built to close that gap.

A porch is where everyone belongs. Every maker welcome, every piece earns its place.

What we actually do

We are a curation and storytelling business, not a warehouse. Front Porch Stitchery does not hold inventory, import, warehouse, or ship. Instead, we:

• Discover and vet makers, cooperatives, and studios around the world.
• Tell each maker’s story with care and accuracy.
• Route you, through affiliate and representative partnerships, straight to the source.

When you buy, the maker or manufacturer handles the sale, payment, shipping, and fulfillment — and your money reaches the hands that made the work. It’s a model built on trust, transparency, and respect for the craft.
